South Korea has a rapidly ageing population, but the youths have a strong grasp on society. Swiftly changing norms, standards (such as in education and beauty), and aspects of everyday life like just living in the city and striving for a career more than a family. Because of such rapid development in Seoul, many younger people have moved from the countryside to the ever-growing city. This meant leaving their family behind, but often the family members tried to move with them.
